Stonefly Outing on the Metolius, October 2011

Welcome to the Stonefly Maidens’ Web site.
We are are an Oregon Council-Federation of Fly Fishers Member Club.

Our mission is to create opportunities, encourage, educate, and mentor women’s participation in the sport of fly fishing.
Our goal is to bring people together who share a love of fly fishing and the beauty of nature to create friendships and lasting memories.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, March 14th.
Joining us again is a popular guest, Hawkeye Hawkins, who will talk about Steelhead fishing in local waters. Hawkeye always gives us a lot of good info!

We are trying to start the meeting a little earlier and see how that works so if you want to be there for the ‘business’ meeting of the club, that will be starting at 6:15 instead of 6:30 and the speaker will be going on at 6:45 instead of 7pm. We will also be trying to END the meeting ‘on time’ with the speaker finishing by 8pm so we can get home at a decent hour. Some of the members come from as far as Forest Grove and Welches and we are trying to be considerate for them, too!

Outings this month:
Our club is once again volunteering a the FFF Fly Fishing Expo in Albany, to staff the FFF Merchandise table. If you are a member and want to volunteer, email fff@stoneflymaidens.org

We are also going to schedule a steelhead outing for either the Clackamas or Sandy River but have not got a date yet. Members, watch your email!

Meeting info: Our regular monthly meetings are usually on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, at The Iron Horse Restaurant, 6034 SE Milwaukie Ave, Portland, Oregon
503-232-1826. Social time from 6pm to 6:30 and the meeting starts at 6:30 with the speaker or program starting at 7pm. They prefer to create one bill for the club. It is also helpful if we can pay in cash rather than by credit or debit card.

Fishalong info: The club fishalongs are generally the Saturday following our monthly meeting. Trip info is distributed to club members at meetings or via email.

Officer meetings: Any member can attend ‘Officer meetings’. They are held quarterly or more often as needed. Dates posted on Calendar page.

Other Items: We have hats, shirts, and patches with our Stonefly logo on them for sale at our ONLINE STORE! What better way to advertise the club?
